This type of quilt is made in Bengal. Kantha is a type of folk art where designs and patterns are embroidered into a quilt with a running stitch often using a contrasting color. This is called a kantha stitch.

Kantha is a Bengali folk tradition embroidering textiles using recycled fabric.
